Jason A. Castillo, 32, of Fairmont was convicted of domestic assault; sentenced to jail 365 days, stayed 361 days for two years, credit for time served four days, two years supervised probation, no alcohol/controlled substance use, no alcohol/controlled substance possession, random testing, participate in individual counseling, no contact with victim(s), with victim’s permission, may contact by phone, text message or email to discuss care of children only, no threats of violence to any person, no use or possession of firearms or dangerous weapons, domestic abuse counseling/treatment, complete southern Minnesota offender education program CADA in Mankato, remain law-abiding, follow all state and federal criminal laws, report to agent as directed, advise agent prior to changing employment and/or residence, cooperate and be truthful with agent in all matters, notify agent if arrested and/or issued a summons, obtain permission from agent before leaving the state, don’t ship/transport/possess/receive firearms or ammunition.

Travis D. Tungland, 45, of Fairmont was convicted on a felony charge of domestic assault; commit to Commissioner of Corrections 18 months, stayed for five years, sentenced to jail 60 days, credit for time served 60 days, five years supervised probation, no alcohol/controlled substance use, no alcohol/controlled substance possession, random testing, participate in individual therapy and mental health case management and follow recommendations, complete chemical assessment, follow all recommendations of evaluation, refrain from any assaultive behaviors, cognitive skill training, obtain permission from agent before leaving the state, follow all state and federal criminal laws, contact probation agent within 72 hours if you’ve been charged with a new crime; are in contact with law enforcement; if you change address, employment, or telephone number, cooperate with search of your person, residence, vehicle, workplace, property, etc. by your probation officer, sign all releases of information, give DNA sample when directed, don’t use/possess firearms, ammunition, or explosives, don’t register to vote until discharged from probation and civil rights are fully restored. An additional felony charge of domestic assault was dismissed.
