East Chain church plans coffee party

East Chain United Methodist Church will host its monthly community coffee party from 8:30-11 a.m. Saturday at the church. Rolls, donuts, treats, coffee, tea, hot chocolate and juice will be served. Donations accepted, with proceeds donated to Oakwood Cemetery maintenance fund. Everyone is welcome.

Martin Luther plans Monday blood drive

National Honor Society of Martin Luther High School will sponsor an American Red Cross blood drive from 12:30-5:30 p.m. Monday at Martin Luther High School in Northrop. Prairie Star Quilters to meet

Prairie Star Quilt Guild will meet Monday at Fairmont Evangelical Covenant Church, 901 Woodland Ave., in Fairmont. All are invited to bring a current sewing project to work on and share with other members. The day will begin at 9 a.m., with each member asked to bring a brown bag lunch. The guild board will meet 12:30 p.m., with the regular membership meeting at 1:30 p.m. Coffee and lunch will be served. KJLY to hold Shareathon fundraiser

KJLY Christian Radio will broadcast its annual Share-a-thon fundraiser Nov. 13-15. The fundraiser will feature interviews with local listeners, special guests, music and free events. In addition, the three-day celebration will feature other activities and free family events including a spaghetti supper Nov. 13, “Soup and Sweets” lunch Nov. 14 and a barbecue rib dinner Nov. 15. Listeners also will have an opportunity to share a tax-deductible donation to the ministry of KJLY.
