Interfaith Caregivers offer lunch event

Interfaith Caregivers will hold a “Lunch & Learn” Dementia Friends event from noon to 1 p.m. Thursday at Open Doors United Methodist Church in Wells. An information session will focus on five key messages about dementia. A meal prepared by IFC staff will be served. Suggested donation of $4. RSVP to (507) 526-4684.

Genesis Academy plans concert

Genesis Classical Academy will present its 2018 spring concert entitled “O Sing to the Lord” at 7 p.m. Thursday at First Baptist Church, 205 Cleveland Ave. W., in Winnebago. Everyone is invited.

Humane Society plant sale set for Saturday

Martin County Humane Society will sponsor a plant sale from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday in the back parking lot at St. John’s United Church of Christ, 301 N. Main St., Fairmont. Perennials such as hostas, lilies, phlox, coneflowers and irises, as well as bedding plants, annuals and more will be available. Donation of plants will be accepted 4:30-7 p.m. Friday in the back parking lot at the church. All proceeds help support the Martin County Humane Society. Everyone is welcome.

College News

The following area students were awarded degees during a 2018 spring commencement ceremony held May 11 at Minnesota State-Moorhead: Fairmont — Dalton Bartz, bachelor of arts degree; Nicholas Hegdal, bachelor of science degree; Jackson — Jordan Snyder, bachelor of arts degree.
