CER announces meetings tonight
Community Education and Recreation will hold two community activity meetings this week. First, a Co-Rec Sand Volleyball organizational meeting will be held 7 p.m. tonight in cafeteria B (K-2) at Fairmont Elementary School. A completed team roaster and fee must be turned into CER no later than May 18. Lastly, a Co-Rec Softball organizational meeting will be held 7:30 p.m. Monday in cafeteria B (K-2) at Fairmont Elementary School. For further information, contact the CER office at (507) 235-3141.
Library to host ‘Toddler Tinker Lab’
A “Toddler Tinker Lab” will be held 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Martin County Library, Fairmont. The lab is designed to allow toddlers to explore, grow and create with a variety of activities each month. This is free and open to the public and there is no need to register. Fairmont Schools to honor retirees at open house
Fairmont Area School District will honor this year’s retirees with an open house reception from 3:30-5 p.m. Wednesday in Room 1017 (Wm. Budd Room) at Fairmont Elementary School, 714 Victoria St., Fairmont. Retirees being honored at this year’s tea are Terry Bair, Judy Berkeland, Nancy Hybbert, Bev Laven, Terry Laven, Mimi Petersen, Carol Pierce, Marlys Rodgers and Darla Ross. Ron Morris is also retiring but will not attend the open house. All community members are invited to attend.
Wallace’s party planned for Thursday
Wallace’s Spring Fling Party will be held Thursday at Interlaken Golf Club located at 277 Amber Lake Dr., Fairmont. A social will begin at 6 p.m. and the dinner will get under way at 6:30 p.m. All former Wallace’s employees and their spouses are cordially invited.
