Masons set Tuesday meeting

Chain Lake Masonic Lodge #64 will hold its monthly meeting Tuesday at their lodge located on Downtown Plaza, Fairmont. A dinner will be served 6 p.m. with a lodge meeting to follow at 7 p.m. The agenda will include the installation of this year’s officers. All members are encouraged to attend.

Class of 1955 to meet

Fairmont High School class of 1955 and spouses will meet 11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Fairmont Holiday Inn.

Coaches vs. Cancer upcoming

The 5th annual Coaches vs. Cancer is being sponsored by the Martin County

Relay for Life. It is an effort to raise awareness for students, athletes and their

families of how they can help find a cure. Two upcoming basketball games will

offer people a chance to help: the Fairmont girls basketball game vs. Blue Earth at 6 p.m. Friday, and the Fairmont boys basketball game vs. Blue Earth at 8 p.m. Friday, both at the high school gym in Fairmont. Paper basketballs can be

purchased from any player or family for a donation of $10. The basketballs will be displayed on the wall behind the Fairmont side (south side). A raffle will be

held 5:30-7:30 p.m. Friday for various items donated by families and businesses. Tickets are one for $1 or three for $5. Winners will be announced at halftime of the boys game.

Reutzel/Fischer family benefit planned Saturday

A Reutzel/Fischer family benefit will be held 4-7 p.m. Saturday at the Fairmont National Guard Armory. A pork sandwich dinner will be served. A raffle and silent auction will be from 4-6 p.m. Gary Reutzel and his daughter Krissy Fischer were both recently diagnosed with cancer. Proceeds from this benefit will help with ongoing medical expenses. If you would like to volunteer, make a donation for the raffle or silent auction, please call Tam Plumhoff at (507) 238-2806, (507) 238-3220 or Paula Pitman at (641) 990-7341. Auction/raffle items can be dropped off at Peters Insurance located at 206 N. State St., Fairmont. All are invited.

Shepherd of the Lakes offers free book

Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church of Fairmont will host their next book club meeting 7 p.m. Jan. 25 at The Deep Freeze (behind Dairy Freeze) in Fairmont. Please note change of location.
