Childcare association sets meeting

Martin County Licensed Childcare Association will hold its monthly meeting 6:30 p.m. Monday at United Methodist Church, 119 E. Second St., Fairmont. The speaker will be Daisy Johnson, who will talk about infant and child sign language. Credits will be given. For more information, call Lori at (507) 235-3994.

Peace Group to meet

The Peace Group will meet 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Burger King in Fairmont. Featured will be congressional candidate Joe Sullivan, a lawyer from Mankato, who is an advocate for solar and wind power, jobs, health care for all, infrastructure, farmers and better schools. Anyone interested in meeting this DFL candidate is welcome.

Exchange Club to hold Tuesday meeting

Fairmont Exchange Club will meet noon Tuesday at Green Mill Restaurant, Fairmont. The program will feature Sue Homan and Beth Reeves representing Kids Against Hunger. Dementia Friends event in Winnebago

Dementia Friends will meet 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at Muir Library in Winnebago. People can receive information about how to become a “Dementia Friend” and be able to put a new understanding about dementia to practical use within their community. RSVP to (507) 526-4684.

Fairmont library to host event next week

A “Toddler Tinker Lab” will be held 9:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Martin County Library, 110 N. Park St., Fairmont. The lab is designed to allow toddlers to explore, grow and create with a variety of activities each month. This is free and open to the public and there is no need to register. 55+ driver program scheduled

Minnesota Highway Safety Center will offer a 55+ Driver Improvement Course this week. There will be a four-hour Refresher Course taught by a certified instructor from the Minnesota Highway Safety and Research Center from 5:30-9:30 p.m. Wednesday in the Community Education room at Fairmont Elementary School.
