People First plan Tuesday meeting
People First will hold its monthly meeting 4-5 p.m. Tuesday at Pizza Ranch, Fairmont. This is a change in meeting time and location. Anyone needing a ride to this event or who has questions about People First may contact Pat Kietzer at (507) 848-5017.
Legion Auxiliary set to meet Tuesday
Fairmont American Legion Auxiliary Unit 36 will meet 7 p.m. Tuesday at Goldfinch Estates, 850 Goldfinch St., Fairmont. All members and anyone interested in the auxiliary may attend.
CER announces upcoming activity
Community Education and Recreation will hold an upcoming community activity. There will be a snowmobile safety class 9 a.m. Jan. 6 in cafeteria A at Fairmont Elementary School, 714 Victoria St., Fairmont (please enter through door 17). This class is a one-day review and riding performance course. Students must complete one of the online courses: snowmobilecourse.com at $29.95 or snowmobile-ed.com with a fee of $29.50 before signing up for the class. Once they complete the online course, students must print out a “youth followup voucher” and bring that along with a copy of their birth certificate. Parent or guardian must accompany student to sign waiver. Each student must have the proper attire of helmet, gloves, snow pants, jacket and boots. A snowmobile will be available. Youth must be 11 years old by the date of class. All residents of Minnesota born after Dec. 31, 1976, must have a snowmobile safety certificate to operate a snowmobile. The instructors are Duffy Post and Mark Drever. Please pre-register with CER at (507) 235-3141 before attending the class.
