Library to host winter break events

The Martin County Library in Fairmont will host three winter break events next week. First, there will be a “Harry Potter Crafternoon” for children ages 7 and up at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday. Dress as your favorite Harry Potter character. They also will have Potter-inspired crafts and trivia. Next, there will be a family movie day featuring the movie “Despicable Me 3” at 2 p.m. Thursday. Lastly, they will have a New Year’s Eve celebration from 11 a.m. to noon Dec. 30. There is no cost for these events and no need to pre-register. First Congregational plans meal

First Congregational United Church of Christ will host a free community meal at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the church located at 319 Downtown Plaza in Fairmont. The menu will consist of tatertot hotdish, fresh baked rolls, jello with fruit, bars and cookies. All are welcome.
