Fairmont High School class of 1964 will meet 11:30 a.m. Friday at the Pizza Ranch, Fairmont.

CER announces upcoming activities

Community Education and Recreation (CER) will offer upcoming community activities. First, there will be an Adult Basketball League informational meeting 7 p.m. Monday in cafeteria A at the Fairmont Elementary School, 714 Victoria St., Fairmont. This meeting is for The Gathering/CER community basketball league which is a 5-on-5 pickup basketball league that will run Monday nights beginning Jan. 8, 2018, and running through April. Interested teams should sign up by Dec. 20. Team fee is $180. For further information, contact Bart Whitman at Also, there will be a Story Time and Crafts with Kayleen class for children in grades 1-2 from 3-4 p.m. Wednesday in room 158 at Fairmont Elementary School, 714 Victoria St., Fairmont. Please enter through door #15A. Join Kayleen Fitzloff and listen to a great book, then stretch your imagination and knowledge through fun hands-on activities and crafts. A snack will be provided. Dunnell church plans Sunday concert event

Renowned pianist and organist Glenn Henriksen of Armstrong, Iowa, will be performing a concert celebrating Christmas hymns of the church 2 p.m. Sunday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 315 N. Seeley Ave. in Dunnell. This concert will celebrate Christmas, with original arrangements by Glenn as well as featured soloists performing songs in Swedish to reflect the heritage of the church and a special appearance by Santa Lucia and others. The concert will also include an audience hymn sing-a-long. A free-will offering will be taken. Plan to stay for coffee and bars following the concert, where you can meet Glenn in person.
