East Chain church plans coffee party

East Chain United Methodist Church will host a community coffee party from 8:30-11 a.m. Saturday at the church in East Chain. Rolls, donuts, coffee, tea and juice will be served. Free will offering. Everyone is welcome.

Korean vets plan Saturday meeting

Korean Veterans Chapter 254 will hold a meeting 9 a.m. Saturday at the Ranch Restaurant, Fairmont. There will be a guest speaker from the Veterans Memorial in Fairmont. All Korean veterans are invited to attend.

CER announces upcoming activities

Community Education and Recreation will hold two upcoming community activities. First there will be a Little Girls Basketball for Beginners for girls pre-K and kindergarten from 3:45-4:30 p.m. Oct. 24-Oct. 27 in the annex gym at Fairmont Elementary School, 714 Victoria St., Fairmont. Please enter through door 21A. Sara Gudahl will be the instructor. Girls will learn the building blocks of basketball. Girls should wear gym shoes, socks, T-shirts and shorts for comfort. The fee is $35 for four sessions which includes a T-shirt. Parents are invited to attend. Deadline to register is Oct. 13. There also will be Girls Basketball Level I for girls in grades 1-2, from 4:30-5:25 p.m. Oct. 24-Oct. 27 in the annex gym at Fairmont Elementary School. Gudahl will be the instructor. The girls will begin laying the foundation for the game of basket. Girls should wear gym shoes, socks, T-shirts and shorts for comfort. The fee is $35 for four sessions, which includes a T-shirt.
