Exchange Club sets meeting for today
Fairmont Exchange Club will meet noon today at Green Mill Restaurant, Fairmont. The program this week will feature Alice Barnes, who will talk about chair caning. Early Risers to hold Wednesday meeting
Early Risers Kiwanis Club of Fairmont will meet 6:45 a.m. Wednesday at the Ranch Restaurant, Fairmont. The program this week will feature Bob Bonk, head coach for cross country. The public is invited to attend.
United Methodist plans Wednesday supper
Fairmont United Methodist Church will have a supper from 5-6 p.m. Wednesday at the church, 119 E. Second St., Fairmont. The menu will consist of scalloped potatoes and ham, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, homemade desserts and beverages. A donation of $2 is suggested. Everyone is welcome.
Grace Missions plan apple pie bake
Grace Lutheran Church missions team is offering apple pies for sale at its annual apple pie bake Saturday. Baked or unbaked pies with a regular or crumb crust are available for $10, with proceeds benefiting missions programs. Pick up the pies on either Saturday or Sunday. St. John Vianney to hold fall festival
St. John Vianney Catholic Church will hold its fall festival Sunday at the church, 901 S. Prairie Ave., in Fairmont. Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Meal and activities will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the St. John Vianney School. A meal consisting of turkey dinner, mashed potatoes and gravy, stuffing, corn, dinner roll, cranberry sauce, pie and beverage will be served. They will also have children’s games, Heavenly Baskets raffle and Cookies by the Pail. Tickets are $12 for adults, pre-sale at the church office, or at the door Sunday; $5.50 for children, ages 4-10; while kids, 3 and under, will eat for free. Everyone is welcome to attend.
