Historical Society slated fundraiser

Faribault County Historical Society will host its annual omelet brunch fundraiser from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the Ag Center on Highway 169 South in Blue Earth. The omelets will be prepared by “celebrity chefs,” and served with assorted muffins, juice and coffee. Donations will be taken for the “Cozy up the Cabin” campaign to help make needed repairs to the 1862 Krosch Log Cabin on History Lane at the Faribault County Fairgrounds. All are invited.

St. Paul Lutheran to hold fundraiser

The PR/PTL Committee at St. Paul Lutheran Church and School in Fairmont will sponsor a Basket Auction fundraiser Sunday at the church located at 211 Budd St., Fairmont. At 11:30 a.m., a pork chop lunch consisting of pork chops on a stick, coleslaw, chips, assorted bars/cookies and beverage will be served. Cost is a donation. There will also be baked goods available to purchase at the bake sale. After lunch, visitors can make their bids in the gym. The auction will start at 1 p.m., and closing on the tables begins shortly after. Everyone is welcome.

Social media breakfast slated for Tuesday

The Fairmont Area Social Media breakfast will be 9 a.m. Tuesday at Southern Minnesota Education Campus in Fairmont. The guest speaker will be Jen Kahler, who will give a presentation on digital photography and how to use it with social media. All are welcome to attend and learn how to use social media tools to build their businesses.

Beginning band meetings next week

There will be beginning band informational meetings for all fourth- and fifth-graders not currently in band at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday and 4:30 p.m. Thursday in the band room at Fairmont Elementary School, 714 Victoria St., Fairmont. The meetings are for the students and their parents and will last about one hour. For more information, contact Kim Breamer at Fairmont Elementary (507) 238-4487.

Woodcarving group to meet

CER Woodcarving group will meet 7 p.m. Tuesday in the art room at Fairmont Elementary School, 714 Victoria St., Fairmont. Park on the south side of the building and use the CER office door. No charge. New and experienced carvers are welcome.
