Class of 1962 to lunch today

Fairmont High School class of 1962, spouses and friends will meet 11:30 a.m. today at the China Buffet, Fairmont.

Eagles to hold weekend events

Fairmont Eagles will host events this weekend at the club located at 1228 W. Lake Ave., Fairmont. First they will have Happy Hour from 5-7 p.m. tonight, featuring $5 burger baskets with choice of potato. Also tonight, Butch & Friends will host karaoke from 7-11 p.m.; next, there will be an all-you-can-eat fish fry from 5-7 p.m. Saturday; Lastly, an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet will be held 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Sunday with a huge variety of choices with coffee, milk and juice included. Everyone is welcome.

Soup supper fundraiser in Dunnell

There will be a soup and dessert supper from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Sunday at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 135 N. Seeley Ave., Dunnell. They will serve chili and other soups, crackers, assorted desserts and beverages. The suggested donation is $7 for adults, $3 for children, ages 4-11, while kids 4 and under eat for free. Proceeds will benefit Ladies Aid/WELCA. All are welcome.

CER announces upcoming activity

Community Education and Recreation will hold a community activity next week. There will be a Zumba “Flair” class from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Mondays, Feb. 20-March 27, and from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Feb. 22-March 29, in cafeteria B at Fairmont Elementary School, 714 Victoria St., Fairmont. Please enter through door 21. Sue Mosloski will be the instructor. The class is for mature adults looking for a slightly modified Zumba class that re-creates the original dance moves at a lower intensity. The class focuses on all elements of fitness: cardiovascular, muscular conditioning, inner core, flexibility and balance. The fee is $33. Valley Quilters plan to meet

Blue Earth Valley Quilters will meet 7 p.m. Monday in the Blue Earth Area High School choir room. Enter through door “V” on the south side of the building. After introductions, the meeting will begin with show-and-tell. The mini-group working on the “Gypsy Wife Quilt” will continue their monthly meetings. Signup for the Art Institute of Chicago Challenge will continue. The program will feature Felicia Hamlin, who will give a demonstration on making a weighted blanket.
