Girl Scout cookie booths open this weekend

Girl Scout cookie booths will open Saturday at the following locations in Fairmont: Fareway Foods, Hy-Vee, Shopko and Wal-Mart. Girl Scouts also are going door to door. Anyone who does not have a Scout visit can purchase cookies at these booths or may call Judy at (507) 236-2540 to locate a Girl Scout nearby.

Martin Luther to hold Monday event

The class of 2017 will host a Chili Challenge Competition during the Jags home game Monday at Martin Luther High School in Northrop. Area chefs will serve special recipes for sampling and in competing for the trophy. Chili will be available for sampling from 5-7 p.m. at a cost of $5 per person.
