Exchange Club to meet today

Fairmont Exchange Club will meet noon today at Green Mill Restaurant, Fairmont. The program this week will feature Jeff Schmidt, owner of the Fairmont Butcher Block, which will open soon. United Methodist plans Wednesday supper

Fairmont United Methodist Church will hold a supper from 5-6 p.m. Wednesday at the church, 119 E. Second St., Fairmont. The menu will consist of A&W Swiss burgers, peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, jello, homemade desserts and beverages. A donation of $2 is suggested. Everyone is welcome.

CER announces upcoming activity

Community Education and Recreation will hold a community activity this week. There will be a Savvy Social Security Planning: What Baby Boomers Need to Know To Maximize Retirement Income class from 6:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday in Room 1017 (Budd Room) at Fairmont Elementary School, 714 Victoria St., Fairmont (enter through door No. 1). Instructors will be Nathan Tiarks, Gene Hackett and Seth Becker. The class is free but pre-registration is required to ensure the class is held. Bridal shower set Saturday in Sherburn

An open house shower for Beth Eisenmenger, daughter of Bruce and Jackie Eisenmenger of Welcome, and bride-to-be of Brandon Kloss of Rochester, will be held 9:30-11 a.m. Saturday at St. Luke’s Catholic Church in Sherburn. Family and friends are cordially invited.

Borderline Cruisers to host membership drive

Borderline Cruisers Car Club will host a membership drive Saturday at the Fairmont Senior Citizens Center, 414 Downtown Plaza, Fairmont. Happy hour will start at 6 p.m., with a meal set to begin at 7 p.m., followed by some fun games. Come and join the club and receive a free meal.

Dance club slates Sunday event

Arc Different Drummer Dance Club will hold a dinner and dance from 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the Fairmont Holiday Inn. Please RSVP for the dinner and if you plan to attend the dance by noon Thursday. The public is invited to attend. For more information, contact Pat Willett-Kietzer at (507) 848-5017.
